Meet the Executive Staff
MICHAEL G. STRAND
Michael G. Strand, President and CEO of FPC of Abington brings twenty-five years of leadership experience in engineering, operations and manufacturing within the Pharmaceutical industry. During his tenure as a search professional, Mr. Strand has completed over 100 searches, ranging from Chief Operating Officer for the world's largest Contract Research Organization to Director level positions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and contract research organization arenas.
Prior to starting FPC of Abington, Mr. Strand held a number of Senior Level Executive positions for Lubrizol Corporation, Youngs Drug Products, Johnson Matthey and Raytheon Engineers and Constructors.
Mr. Strand’s ability to build and "grow" highly respected and thriving organizations can be evidenced by his company's success. FPC of Abington has developed an excellent client following that includes the top Fortune 100 companies within the pharmaceutical industry.
Mr. Strand is a 1969 United States Naval Academy graduate. While on active duty in the United States Navy, Mr. Strand flew the A-6 Intruder aircraft and executed a number of highly confidential missions in Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean. He remained on active duty until 1975 and continued in the U.S. Naval Reserve until 1996, when he retired with the rank of Captain, USNR.
Apart from his professional activities, Mr. Strand has been actively involved in community affairs and held the position of Councilman for his local borough governing body. He is an avid skier, tennis player and enjoys fly-fishing.
LAUREN S. ADAMS
Lauren Adams, Vice President of Pharmaceuticals, has been a search professional for over twelve years and has worked on over 250 assignments, successfully completing searches in pharmaceutical clinical research, clinical operations and business development. While she has worked cross functionally, her primary area of expertise is in Medical Directors and Clinical Research recruitment.
Prior to joining FPC of Abington, Ms. Adams served as Director, Physician Recruitment, for Marvin Klein and Associates. During her tenure within the executive search arena, Lauren has been the recipient of numerous corporate awards that have recognized her outstanding professional performance in the industry.
Lauren is a 1981 graduate of Pennsylvania State University and received her B.A. degree in Marketing and International Business. She is actively involved in the American Heart Association and the Make a Wish Foundation. Ms. Adams is a certified SCUBA diver and is a volunteer for SCUBA diving for the handicapped.
LARRY SMITH
Larry prior to joining FPC of Abington, Mr. Smith was the Vice President of Sales for Caliper, a Princeton based human resource assessment and consulting firm with offices worldwide. In addition to building and managing the sales activities of the company, he consulted with companies of all sizes to assist them in the improvement of their hiring, selection and development processes and in uncovering underlying causes to human resource concerns. Mr. Smith has also been the Vice President of two franchise organizations that he guided to national status. He has authored numerous articles for various trade and business publications. Mr. Smith has been a frequent presenter on human resource recruitment and organizational development.
Larry Smith, Vice President Regulatory Affairs, joined our firm in early 2004 specializing in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
