A domestic and international manufacturer of innovative, Ag Equipment, has an opening for a TEST ENGINEER.
• Design and implement testing procedures for experimental and production machines and components
• Provide thorough documentation that will support test results and recommendation
• Must have very good understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, the materials used in their construction, and the functions they perform
SUPERVISOR: Engineering Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Assist in determining feasibility of design concepts through testing
2. Identify and communicate area of risk and rank the risks from high to low
3. Develop and execute Test Master Plan for new product systems and/or component development initiatives
4. Develop detailed test plans which would include testing location, equipment needed to perform test and instructions on how to perform test
5. Determine test equipment, software and material needs, make purchase recommendations and justify same
6. Communicate effectively with shop personnel
7. Analyze designs and make recommendations to design engineer
8. Assist senior engineers with development and testing projects
9. Oversee and coordinate testing programs either on site or off site
10. Travel as required to accomplish these duties which may require extended stays at remote testing locations
11. Assist engineers with development and testing projects
12. Work with participants in testing programs and also work with outsourced vendors. Travel as required to accomplish these duties
13. Research, understand, communicate and manage certification testing for product compliance as specified in project charters

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
• BS in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years experience in specifying, designing, constructing and operating test apparatus in lab and field testing and experimentation relating to entire machines, systems and components
• Experience in durability analysis and life prediction of mobile machines
• Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical individuals at all levels of the organization
• MS proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
• Detail oriented and well organized
• Excellent documentation skills in data management and writing test reports
• 2D and 3D modeling experience preferably in Inventor, Solid Works or Pro E
• Excellent understanding of the properties of materials commonly used in the construction of AG equipment industry
• A demonstrated working ability to perform static loading FEA analysis and cyclic loading fatigue analysis. CFD ability would be a plus
• Experience conducting FMEA
• Experience with farm machinery, high mechanical aptitude, and basic hydraulic and electrical knowledge
