A Specialty Chemical Company, located in Edison, NJ., is seeking a Project Manager to join its Engineering Team.
This person will manager an array of projects ranging from $25k to $25 Million. Responsible for overall project cost, scheduling and deliverables of projects and services in an assigned area, from design to start-up:
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of new developments and technology.
- Monitors all projects phases and recommends changes to improve operating efficiency.
- Identifies and mitigates risks associated with projects.
- Manages contractors for field installation and acts as an internal liaison with operations, procurement, safety and business groups.
- Liaison with customers, operations, procurement, safety and business groups.
- Ensures that all organization and execution work processes are followed.
- Interfaces with external customers, governmental permitting and inspection agencies, business, environmental regulatory groups as required.
- Responsible for managing safety and quality programs related to projects including quality assurance planning and code regulation compliance.
- Prepares capital appropriation submittals and manages capital budgets.
- Assists start-up and resolves issues.
- Prepares project documentation and transfers project to manufacturing engineering / operations.
Requirements:
- Must have a BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil or Industrial).
- Must have proven experience in an Industrial Manufacturing Setting (Chemical, Petrochemical, Refining, or Pharmaceutical).
- Requires a minimum of 8 years experience in engineering, project management and/or construction.
- Requires proficiency in project development, scope planning and definition, project plan execution, and change control processes as well as experience with effective schedule and cost control and resource planning.
- Must have experience working with and Managing a Single Project Scope of at least $3 Million.
- Must have an intimate understanding of design and construction safety.
- PMI certification is strongly preferred.
