This multi-billion dollar automotive supplier is looking for Purchasing professionals seeking to challenge themselves. Two levels of opportunity are available depending on experience: SENIOR BUYER or COMMODITY MANAGER. Both roles will serve at the strategic level in defining the strategy for a specific commodity. You will have oversight to multiple facilities across North America, and across multiple business units/business platforms...wherever applicable to your commodity.
You must enjoy and thrive on focusing on New Product Development and all related issues including VA/VE, Cost Modeling, Supplier Development, etc. These roles are fairly technical in nature, so while a technical degree might be preferred...it is not mandatory. What IS mandatory is the technical aptitude to your commodity. And commodities involved are: BEARINGS, CASTINGS, FORGINGS, STEEL and MACHINED PARTS. Positions will be located in MICHIGAN and OHIO.
You must be a self-starter, self-motivated and driven. You must be curious and thorough in your approach to problem solving. Your role will have a Project Management aspect that will provide diversity in activity from one day to the next.
So, to be considered...you've gotta have the following:
- At least a Bachelor's Degree...
- An experience range of from 5 years to 15 years...
- Commodity experience with any of the aforementioned commodities: BEARINGS, CASTINGS, FORGINGS, STEEL or MACHINED PARTS is preferred, but I could consider PLASTICS if all else is equal : )
