Reporting in to the Director of Global Purchasing, this role will serve as a key member of the Supply Chain organization. You will be tasked with assisting in the upgrading of the core competencies of the function, while defining and setting the global negotiation & sourcing strategies for several global commodities (chemical & plastic resin related in nature). You will develop short & long term plans including 5-year strategic plans for corporate purchasing, linking strategic plans to the business & prioritize necessary actions. Scope will encompass approx. 15 worldwide sites and therefore include developing the local purchasing strategy & action plan as well. Scope will include:
- Negotiation on a global level. LCC supplier identification / qualification. Monitoring/analysis & acting upon global market, supply, pricing & trend conditions;
- Leading & building of a site purchasing team (prior leadership/supervision experience is required)
- A matrix environment, involving the coordination of projects across sites & departments.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity you must have:
- a Masters degree/MBA and at least 10 years of progressively developed sourcing & purchasing experience in the chemical or plastics industry.
- an understanding of the culture of an international group, cross-cultural capability
- skilled negotiation experience
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to travel
- Prior supervision / leadership experience
- the ability to work with minimal supervision
