Job Summary
Directs and manages the implementation of the Company’s health, safety, environmental and security programs to establish and maintain a safe, healthy and secure work environment and ensures compliance with regulatory authorities.
Functions:
SAFETY
Conducts site investigations, prepares reports and facilitate activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
Conducts and trains supervisors to assist in appropriate safety activities such as accident investigations.
Develops and executes comprehensive health and safety programs and promotes the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions though department supervisors and throughout the Company. Lead other to attain the safety goals of the Company.
Recommends measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accident and health hazards.
Monitors and analyzes safety trends and implements programs designed to improve Company results.
Analyzes hazard potentials and recommends then enforces, with assistance from all supervisory personnel, personal protective equipment requirements.
Assists in the development and administration of Company safety incentive programs including evaluating the effectiveness of such programs in positively changing employee behavior.
Develops, performs and reports housekeeping inspections and audits.
Complies with OSHA regulations.
Creates and leads employee involvement via Safety meetings, activities through the establishment of Safety Committees, and other methods to promote employee involvement and accountability.
ENVIRONMENTAL
Effectively manages the environmental programs and processes. Complies fully with mandated programs and reporting requirements.
Obtains and updates all necessary environmental permits.
Regularly monitors/samples/analyzes environmental systems throughout the plant and reports results to facility management.
Reviews and recommends changes to environmental systems to improve compliance.
SECURITY
Manages the facility security program. Recommends improvements where appropriate.
Job Requirements:
2 year College Degree and or extensive and equivalent experience
1 -3 years Safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Environmental compliance and reporting experience a plus.
Experience with computers and functional in MS Office programs.
