FPC of New York City specializes in placing finance and accounting professionals in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer products companies.  We are a subsidiary of FPC National which was founded in 1959 and has over 70 offices around the country.

Our client, a distributor of flooring products, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial manager to serve as the Controller of this growing business with 2 locations in the Northeast.

They are seeking a finance business partner who is capable of linking financial information to business performance, understands the financial drivers of running a sales oriented/distributor organization and has the energy and enthusiasm to "roll up the sleeves" and get involved in all aspects of the business. More importantly, this position consults with the sales organization to analyze the impact of price, volume and mix on sales and operating income. Also, you will conduct cost benefit analyses to drive business decisions; develop pricing strategies and be involved in designing sales programs and sales compensation.

As the finance leader of this growing business, you will manage a 5 person team responsible for all finance/accounting activities at both sites relating to the general ledger, standard costs, credit, receivables, payables, and payroll. You will establish standards costs and align expenses; lead month and year end closing cycle processes; oversee the physical inventories; direct and monitor cashflow; prepare consolidated summary and monthly reporting of the business's financial statements including variance analyses and commentary and present to senior management; construct monthly forecasts and annual budgets; and establish internal controls structure to manage/minimize financial risk.

This position reports to the General Manager with a strong dotted line to the parent company General Manager, General Accounting.

This is a tremendous opportunity for the successful candidate to come in on the ground floor, and as a member of the senior management team, set the finance strategies of the subsidiary.
