Due to rapid growth, our client, a leader in their industry has created a new position.

They currently have an immediate need for a Project Buyer in their New Jersey location.

Basic Job Functions 

·       Identifies suppliers related to Project Construction Services and negotiates pricing and terms and conditions with those suppliers. 

·       Responsible for assuring Purchasing Orders are placed and deliveries are scheduled to support Project specific timelines.

·       Represents the Procurement Group in all Project Meetings.  Central point of contact to the project team for all procurement related items and issues.

Experience

·       8 or more years of purchasing experience (preferably in Capital Equipment procurement)

Education

·       Four year college degree in Purchasing or related fields or equivalent.

·       Advanced degree preferred.

Required Skills:

Technical:

·       In depth knowledge of MRP concepts and one or more ERP systems.

·       High level of skill demonstrated in managing suppliers and supplier relationships.

·       Broad knowledge of techniques used in negotiating cost reductions along with terms and conditions with suppliers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

·       Responsible for identifying suppliers related to Project Construction services.

·       Responsible for negotiating pricing and other terms with assigned suppliers to improve Project cost.

·       Participate in and may lead supplier selection, qualification, evaluation, and re-evaluations for new and current suppliers

·       May perform Commodity Management functions on some items, including development of strategic relationships and negotiating long term supply agreements.
