FPC Workplace Web Poll Data Also Indicate 11% of Candidates Polled Felt Their Negotiation Skills Have Potential and Want to Learn How to Negotiate Better.
NEW YORK, November 21, 2005—Recruiting professionals at FPC, a national executive search firm with more than 70 offices, ask job candidates visiting the site their opinions about workplace issues.
This latest data from the FPC Workplace Web Poll indicate that a significant percentage of the nations’ employees feel they know exactly how to ask for what they want.
Of 854 respondents* to the question “I would describe my negotiation skills as…?”
• 66% said “strong - I know exactly how to ask for what I want”
• 21% said “ mediocre - I know what I want but only sometimes get it”
• 11% said “having potential - I don't know how to ask for what I want, but want to learn”
• 1% said “not so great - I ask for what I want, but never seem to get it”
• 0% said “non existent - I'm afraid to ask for what I want”
