Job Seeker FAQs
How soon can I start working?
Job availability changes on a daily basis. Once our application process is complete, you will be considered based on your preferences and your skills and will be offered appropriate positions.
What is involved in the application process?
You will be asked to provide complete work history information as well as asked type of work and preference of location.
After the application is complete, you will interview with a recruiting manager. In the interview, you will have the opportunity to discuss what skills you have and what you are looking for in your next position. The recruiting manager will discuss not only what specific skills you have, but also find out more about your experiences in job-related settings.
What if I am not interested in a certain position when it is offered? Is it all right to turn it down?
Not every job is going to meet the expectations you have. If you are not interested in a position, you are free to decline. We will continue to offer positions to you based on your skills and preferences.
Will my search be confidential?
Discretion is vital during recruiting, interviewing and negotiating to fill a position. Credentials and privileged information are handled in confidence. Our goal is to serve as an effective and trustworthy liaison between a potential employer and candidate. You can trust that each FPC consultant with whom you have contact understands and abides by this credo and our code of ethics.
How can I help my recruiter?
Work with your recruiter to come up with a strategy for where you want to be marketed. Help the recruiter create a selling profile to highlight those things in your background that companies are specifically seeking. It’s different from a resume. A selling profile is a short document that will peak the interest of the hiring manager to read the details of your career progression in your resume. This profile, along with a list of companies you would like to work for, will give the recruiter the tools they need to present you to companies to get you seen.
What else can I do to help my job search?
If you are looking to change industries, networking is your best bet. Business networking sites like LinkedIn are a good place to start. There are also many niche industry networking sites that can provide access to industry insiders who can help you during your transition. Take classes and volunteer in your desired industry. Join the industry associations and take part in their events. Being around people in the industry is the best way to step through the door when it opens.
What do I pay for your services?
As an applicant, you will not pay for any of the services FPC Raleigh provides.
